Live Music for Dance Program
Helps New York City and New Jersey dance companies meet the costs of using live music. Companies may also request fees for composers who are creating new music for dance projects.
The next deadline is December 1, 2011.
CAP Recording Grant
Direct assistance is available for recordings of music by living American composers, or for the reissuance of recordings of works by living American composers that are no longer available.
CAP Recording has one deadline per year. The most recent deadline was July 14, 2011. Please check again for the 2012 grant details.

I was previously awarded a grant but I have not received it yet because my project hasn’t taken place. Will I still receive the grant?
Yes. Grantees should submit their payments requests as usual.
What will happen to the Composers Assistance Program (CAP), CAP Recording, and Live Music for Dance (LMD) grants?
These programs will all continue.
Will the deadlines change?
The Fall CAP deadline is October 17, 2011. The Live Music for Dance deadline December 1, 2011.
Will the guidelines change?
Applicants are advised to check the guidelines carefully for any changes before applying. CAP and Live Music For Dance are transitioning to an online application process this season.
Are there membership requirements for grant applicants?
No. Effective July 1, 2011 there are no membership requirements; grants are open to all.
