| Additional Information |
Moonflowers is part of Vox Inhumanae, a series of monologues for three instruments with otherworldly vocal qualities, all played by the composer: shakuhachi, theremin, and dan bau. The dan bau is a traditional Vietnamese monochord (one-stringed instrument) played by plucking the string at the harmonic nodes and bending the pitch with a 'whammy bar' made out of water buffalo horn.
