Music by Mark Gibbons has been performed in settings such as Alice Tully Hall and the 92nd Street Y in NYC, the Posthoornkerk and Barton workshop at Zaal 100 in Amsterdam, Princeton University, and the annual conference of the Society of Electro Acoustic Music in the US. Commissions have come from violinist Lydia Forbes through the Tera de Marez Oyens Foundation in The Netherlands; percussionist Danny Tunick; clarinetist Michael Lowenstern; and choreographer Sophie Lessard for the CNSMD-Lyon Dance Ensemble, Lyon, France; among others. Awards and activities have included residency at Diapason Gallery for Sound and Intermedia, the National Orchestral Association Orchestral Reading Fellowship, and the NOA Chamber Music performance award.
Mark holds a Ph.D. in composition from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a M.M. in composition from the Juilliard School. His music is recorded for the SEAMUS and New World labels.
