With over 52,000 works by some 6,000 composers, the AMC Online Library (which also features 7,000 media files) is the premiere place to promote and showcase the vast repertoire of American music. Composers take note - be a part of the most comprehensive database of American music!

Career promotion in the Artist & Music Industry Directories

Members will be listed in the directories of musicians and industry professionals involved in the field of new American music, making our community visible to everyone in the thousands who log on to amc.net every month. Member pictures, biographical information, artistic and professional work, and contact information are displayed to visitors searching for composers, performers, conductors, ensembles, educators, and more. Don’t miss out! Be counted as a part of the new American music community.

Fiscal Sponsorship

Fiscal Sponsorship was created to help our members further their careers and to strengthen the new music field. The program offers members the opportunity to apply for funding from private foundations, government agencies, corporations and individuals who restrict and limit their support to 501(c)3 organizations. All members in good standing at the time of application are eligible to apply; and there must be a specific project associated with the proposal.

PLEASE NOTE: AMC assesses a 7% administrative fee on all funds received for the project.

Opportunity Update, opportunities to help you advance your career

Updated monthly, Opportunity Update is one of the most complete online resources available announcing competitions, calls for scores and collaborations, grant programs, residencies, and more. Opportunity Update also contains important announcements from the Center.

Eligibility to apply to AMC’s Composer Assistance Program (CAP)

Composer members are eligible to apply to CAP which offers direct assistance of up to $5,000 for expenses in connection with premiere performances, or for the re-issue of recordings of works by living American composers that are no longer available.

Access to valuable resources

AMC's "Members Only" online resources are a must-have for all musicians involved in new American music. Members can access a wide range of materials including the New Music Classifieds listings, along with basic career advice ranging from earning a living, score production, PR and marketing tips to vital information about copyright protection, contracts and legal affairs.

Members receive the educator’s discount on Finale and Sibelius software - that's a bargain!

Need health insurance?

You may be eligible for group health insurance through AMC. Coverage is available to all members in good standing of the American Music Center who are engaged in an occupation in the arts or entertainment industries and reside in the following areas: NY, NJ, CT, Greater Atlanta (GA) Area, Greater Chicago (IL) Area, Southern FL, and CA. Plans include Oxford and GHI available in NY; CIGNA HMO, available in NJ, CT, Greater Chicago, and CA; CIGNA POA, available in NJ, CT, Greater Atlanta, Greater Chicago, and CA; and CIGNA PPO, available in Southern FL. AMC members living outside the New York City area may request from the AMC Membership Department authorized perusal copies of up to three (3) scores per year from the Collection. This unique collection contains over 40,000 works – some you can’t find anywhere else!

Information Assistance

As an AMC member you are entitled to two 30-minute sessions per year of one-on-one professional advice from our expert staff. Members may schedule a phone appointment or visit the Center by filling out this online form.

Erling Wold, Composer
Erling Wold is a composer, aesthete and a bon vivant. Last year saw the premiere of two large works, his Missa Beati Notkeri Balbuli Sancti Galli Monachi in St Gallen, Switzerland, and his solo opera Mordake for tenor John Duykers in the San Francisco International Arts Festival. He is currently working on a noise-music collaboration with fognozzle, on a personal autobiographical theater piece detailing his corruption and death with the help of James Bisso, and on a violin sonata for the Denisova-Kornienko duo in Vienna.
