Since its founding in 1939, the American Music Center has pioneered new programs and services to meet the needs of the new music community.

Today, the Center:

advocates for the community through its award-winning web magazine, NewMusicBox, and its online radio station, Counterstream Radio;
supports the community by administering grants and offering professional development workshops; and
connects the community through a vast, searchable online database of works by American composers, as well as through publications and directories compiling information useful to industry professionals and through benefits and services for its members in all fifty states and around the world.
